Professor Riggins to Help Lead Nationwide Study of Early Childhood Brain Development

Hornbake Plaza

Dr. Tracy Riggins, along with Nathan Fox and Brenda Jones-Harden was awarded a major grant from NIH to study the influence of prenatal and postnatal environmental impacts on the development. The study, which is part of the larger HEALthy Brain and Child Development (HBCD) study, will bring together environmental exposure data with brain imaging and behavior to understand developmental change in brain and behavior. The UMD team will receive over $1 million per year for the first five years of the project. The project is expected to last 10 years.
