Melanie is a fourth-year doctoral candidate working with Dr. Andres De Los Reyes. She graduated with a B.S. in Psychology from Northeastern University in 2015, where she worked in a variety of research settings, including a cognitive psychology laboratory, the Department of Correction, and a pediatric intensive care unit. After graduating,  Melanie worked as a research coordinator for the Mind Your Heart Study, a longitudinal cohort study that investigates the relationship between posttraumtic stress disorder and cardiovascular health in Veterans. Her research focuses on understanding the differential impact of trauma on the development of later psychopathology, including PTSD, depression, suicide, and substance use.
