My research interests overall are in intersectional feminism and gender studies, as well as media and the impact that media culture has on prejudice, stereotyping, person perception, and self-esteem. In particular, I'm interested in how positive or negative media representation can impact self-esteem. I will be working on research projects concerning the intersection of race and masculinity (particularly, Asian-American men and masculinity), as well as how adherence to gendered norms may predict or shield against substance abuse in young women.
