Rachael is a 3rd year graduate student in the doctoral program in Clinical Psychology at the University of Maryland. She is working in the Affective and Translational Neuroscience Laboratory (ATNL) with Dr. Alex Shackman.
Currently, Rachael’s research involves studying the neural circuitry supporting heightened states of anxiety and characterizing their relevance to development of clinical anxiety and depression in adolescence and young adulthood. She is also interested in the development of human extended amygdala functional connectivity and its relation to social and emotional functioning.
