Kalyn Su

Bio

Kalyn Su will enter the psychology PhD program in fall 2026 within the Social, Decision, and Organizational Science area, working with Dr. Nathan Cheek in the Choice, Inequality, & Policy (CHIP) Lab. She earned a BA in psychology with minors in sociology and peace & justice studies from Chapman University, where she worked in Dr. Amy Moors' ONWARD Lab on studies examining diverse relationships, social desirability, ally development, and the well-being and thoughts of university faculty with DEI-related expertise in the midst of anti-DEI sentiments sweeping the nation (her undergraduate thesis).

Kalyn’s research interests focus on better understanding the way implicit bias and prejudice (1) reinforce social inequities at the systemic and policymaking level, (2) perpetuate disparities among individuals of marginalized socioeconomic status, gender identity, and racial identity, and (3) affect such individuals in the education system, workplace, and health/healthcare. Ultimately, her goal is to conduct research that can translate into real-world applications to mitigate and spread awareness about prejudice and discrimination in these areas.
