Abramson, Jessica

Jessica (Jess) Abramson (she/her) entered the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program in 2023. She works with Dr. Ethan Mereish in the Lavender Lab. She graduated from Wellesley College in 2019 with a BA in Psychology and Data Science. Her research examines oppression and oppression-based stress with a focus on the experiences of LGBTQ adolescents. She explores the effects of intersectional structural oppression on LGBTQ young people with different racial and ethnic identities.

McQuade, Precious

Precious entered the Organizational Psychology doctoral program in 2023 and is working under Dr. Jen Wessel. Precious’s research interests include improving workplace inclusivity and understanding organizational impacts for marginalized and underrepresented individuals and groups.

Mereish, Ethan

Dr. Ethan Mereish is an Associate Professor and the director of the Lavender Lab in the Department of Psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park. He's also an Adjunct Associate Professor at Brown University. He completed his doctoral training at Boston College, a clinical psychology residency at Harvard Medical School, and a postdoctoral research fellowship at Brown University.

Tronetti, Alisha

Alisha Tronetti (she/her) is a doctoral student in Organizational Psychology in the SDOS Program. She graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2021 with dual degrees: B.A. in Psychology and a B.S. in Management.

Trovato, Karoline

Karoline Trovato (she/her) is a doctoral candidate in counseling psychology at the University of Maryland where she received her Bachelor of Science in psychology and Masters of Science in counseling psychology. Through her work alongside her faculty advisor, Dr. Karen O'Brien, Karoline aims to contribute to the power of research and knowledge to inform decisions and change lives.

Tyrell, Fanita

Dr. Fanita Tyrell is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Maryland at College Park.  Dr. Tyrell received her PhD in Developmental Psychology, with a minor in quantitative methods at the University of California, Riverside.  Following her doctoral training, she completed postdoctoral fellowships at the National Center for PTSD and the Institute of Child Development at the University of Minnesota. 

Jones, Benjamin

Dr. Benjamin Jones joined the Psychology department in 2019. He earned his Ph.D. in Industrial Organizational Psychology from the Georgia Institute of Technology where he studied strategies leaders could use to appeal to multiple, competing groups to optimize their chance of retaining and gaining followers.  He is passionate about inspiring others through undergraduate education and is excited to be able to do so as a Terp.

Chicoli, Amanda

Dr. Amanda Chicoli is a senior lecturer in the Psychology Department. She is also the research coordinator for the neuroscience major, a faculty advisor for the minor in neuroscience, the faculty advisor for NuRhoPsi and the course director for NEUR305: Neural Systems and Circuits. She has been teaching at the University of Maryland full time since 2019.
