Yarger, Heather

Heather Yarger received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology/Clinical Science from the University of Delaware in 2018.  She completed her APA-accredited pre-doctoral clinical internship within the Child and Family Therapy and Behavioral Management Clinics at Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.  She is currently a research assistant professor in the Department of Psychology investigating the psychophysiological bases of anxiety symptoms in autistic youth.  Dr.

Tyrell, Fanita

Dr. Fanita Tyrell is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Maryland at College Park.  Dr. Tyrell received her PhD in Developmental Psychology, with a minor in quantitative methods at the University of California, Riverside.  Following her doctoral training, she completed postdoctoral fellowships at the National Center for PTSD and the Institute of Child Development at the University of Minnesota. 

Jones, Benjamin

Dr. Benjamin Jones joined the Psychology department in 2019. He earned his Ph.D. in Industrial Organizational Psychology from the Georgia Institute of Technology where he studied strategies leaders could use to appeal to multiple, competing groups to optimize their chance of retaining and gaining followers.  He is passionate about inspiring others through undergraduate education and is excited to be able to do so as a Terp.

Blanchard, Jack

Dr. Blanchard received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook . He was subsequently a predoctoral intern, postdoctoral NIMH fellow, and then faculty member at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute. Following a faculty appointment at the University of New Mexico Dr. Blanchard moved to the University of Maryland where he has been since 1999. Dr.

Bernat, Edward

Dr. Bernat received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Michigan, where he also completed an APA-accredited internship and postdoctoral work in Biomedical Engineering. He subsequently served as a Research Associate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Minnesota and then core faculty in Clinical Psychology at Florida State University. Dr. Bernat joined the Psychology faculty at the University of Maryland-College Park in 2013.

Shackman, Alexander

I am a Professor in the Department of Psychology (Clinical and CNS Area Groups), core faculty member of the interdepartmental Neuroscience and Cognitive Science (NACS) Doctoral Program and the Maryland Neuroimaging Center (MNC), and Director of the Affective and Translational Neuroscience Laboratory at the University of Maryland. My work has been continuously supported by the NIH since 2016 and led to well over 100 publications (h-index: 55).

Redcay, Elizabeth

Elizabeth Redcay received her Ph.D. in Psychology and Cognitive Science from the University of California San Diego in 2008 and completed her postdoctoral work in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2011 she joined the faculty at UMD as an Assistant Professor in Psychology and member of the Neuroscience and Cognitive Science (NACS) program.
